“We are not physical beings having a spiritual experience; we are spiritual beings having a physical experience.”
― Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
After noticing a lot of tension and discomfort in my outer shoulders recently, it occurred to me that I have (yet again) let my body fall out of balance. I've been working hard to grow my MEGAfit business and have let my yoga practice slip by the wayside. In other words..... too much strength training and too little stretching has created sore and tender shoulders in my physical body. My body has become a bit too muscle-bound.
Of course, this revolution caused me to think about how balanced I am in other areas of my life. My friend, Jill, has been encouraging me to listen to Oprah's Super Soul Sunday podcasts, so I decided to listen to one as I walked around the Quarry the other day. Yep, it was just what I needed, and I realized that I've been a little out of whack in the spiritual department as well.
I listened to an old episode with the now-deceased, Wayne Dyer, and wow! I encourage you to check it out too. One of the things he reminded me of is that we are physically just made up of a bunch of cells. Those cells keep dying and getting replaced. Our body at any given time is an entirely different body than the body we had just a short before. It is just our soul that remains constant.
So.... what do we do? Periodically re-evaluate and make any necessary adjustments you think you need to come into a more balanced place. Try to do so in a loving way rather than criticizing yourself for what happens to every one of us.
I'm starting to teach a yoga class for barre. again next week on Thursday's at 11 am, and I would love for you to come and help create a community of people all working together to seek a more balanced place...... yet again!
